Since our marriage in 1978, we have known that our adventure would always have God at the helm. We've always sought after His plans for our lives while at the same time focusing on raising our two sons and enjoying life. Volunteering and serving was part of our DNA and we always found ourselves in the leadership of whatever we were involved with whether it was scouts or sports, church or Young Life. During that time God began to develop a strong sense of family in all that we did. Creating family with those we worked with became a cornerstone of who we were. We were never missions minded and had no interest in visiting a foreign country until God touched our hearts in 2010 while visiting an orphanage in Nicaragua. This mission trip led to many visits over the next 3 years and the formation of Heaven's Storehouses.
In 2013, we decided to retire and move to Nicaragua. We sold our possessions, closed down our business, left our family and friends and church at the beginning of 2014. This was no easy decision as we were leaving behind three adorable grandchildren and a comfortable lifestyle, knowing that we would not be returning.
It has been an amazing journey with God as we have learned about the Nicaraguan culture and the needs of the people. We consider it an honor to serve such a warm and caring group of people. We especially love the community that God has placed us in. The children and parents are amazing people and they have honored us by allowing us to be a part of their lives.
